QCWA Ambrose branch is hosting a Seniors’ Day as part of Seniors’ Week Celebrations. We will commence the day with performances by students from our local primary school, Ambrose State School. A delicious and plentiful morning tea will then be served including cakes, slices and scones. Our branch will then run 5 hoy games. Hoy is similar to bingo but rather then numbers being called, playing cards are called, for example, Hearts, Spades, Clubs and Diamonds. Raffles will also be run and drawn in this time. Help yourself to a nice cup of tea or coffee or purchase a cold refreshing drink from our bar selling beer, wine and soft drinks. As lunch time approaches, a local duet will begin performing. The Elysian-duo will play live music into the afternoon where guest can feel free to dance. A BBQ lunch of steak, sausages and salads will be served. Guest will be invited to view photos and historical memorabilia that will be on display, reflecting on things of the past. Guests are welcome to share stories and recounts of interesting things that have occurred in their lives. QCWA Seniors Day will be a day that you won’t want to miss. Book your seat, bring along a friend, daughter/son, grandchildren are welcome too. Thank you to COTA Queensland, Queensland Government and Gladstone Regional Council for their support in us hosting this fantastic day.
