Show rodeo draws massive crowd
IF THEY were lucky enough to nab one, spectators were nearing the edge of their seats at Gayndah Show's nail-biting rodeo on Saturday.
Opening the gate for the Burnett Buckle series the Gayndah Show Rodeo was highly anticipated and hundreds of onlookers were happy to ride out the wet weather to watch.
Gayndah Show Society President Stuart Kirk said the rodeo was well attended with an excited crowd.
"It was really hard to get a seat and the stadium was packed,” Mr Kirk said.
He put the big crowd down to the rodeo being a first in years for Gayndah Show.
"The locals had been asking for a rodeo at the show for a long time so they all came out in support,” Mr Kirk said.
Bullfighting brothers Kirstin and Gabe Wood have worked at rodeos for 10 years and were impressed with Saturday's spectators.
"We really loved it,” Kirstin said.
"It was a great, lively crowd and we've never been to a Gayndah rodeo before so that was nice to see.”
