Computer training back in Monto

COMPUTER training lessons aimed at seniors will be resuming at the ExcelCare Neighbourhood Centre in Monto.

Monto Community Connect Worker Dave Francis is aiming for a start next Wednesday, with one session running from 1pm-3pm.

"I'm hoping for good attendance, we had to cut off early last year due to lack of numbers,” Mr Francis said.

This year, a big focus will be on coming to grips with Windows Explorer.

According to Mr Francis, a common issue people brought up during last year's sessions was being unable to find files.

"We all know how difficult it can be to find files, especially in a lot of cases where the computer will save without telling you where they've gone,” he said.

Setting up a MyGov account will be a priority, as everything move toward online transactions, including upcoming NDIS plans.

Other than that, lesson plans will continue on from before, with the optioin to start from scratch for newcomers.

To book one of the lessons, call the centre on 49942508.
